Possible Corvette SS in 2009??

Corvette SS?Sketchy details of a possible Corvette SS have long been rumored on the web. Then, last week, Bob Lutz confirmed that GM would take the Corvette head to head with the Viper in the current horsepower wars. This can only mean one thing, a 600hp+ factory Corvette may be a reality! Today, I spotted this on Jalopnik. These photos look to be the best evidence of a supercharged Z06 I’ve yet seen. Possibly dubbed the LS9 motor, this supercharged and intercooled V-8 has been reported to be either a 6.2L or 7.0L dry-sump motor. Should GM bring a C6 ‘vette of this output to market with items like carbon ceramic brakes, expect a sticker over $100k! However, production of just 2,000-3,000 units a year would make this one very coveted item! If GM built it, would you buy one? Should they require driving school to purchase a monster like this? What do you think?

2007 Silverado 2500HD: Arriving Now!

2007 Silverado 2500HD Rear QuarterOur first new 2007 Silverado 2500HD is due to be delivered here at the dealership any day now. I’m excited to see how the new truck rides. Equipped with a 6.0L V-8 engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission I’m guessing this truck will accelerate like a jet plane on takeoff, smooth and strong!

2007 Silverado 2500HD Front QuarterOf course, if that isn’t enough power for you the Duramax Diesel will also be available with 365hp and 660lb.-ft of torque! I’ll update you once I’ve had a chance to drive one but, one thing is for sure, it looks great!

What do you think? Do you like the new look of the new 2500HD?

Tahoe Hybrid: A Dual Mode Hybrid

Tahoe Hybrid BadgeLater this year we will see the first Tahoe Hybrid land here at our dealership. This is exciting because this will be the world’s first two-mode hybrid propulsion powered SUV!

While traditional full hybrid systems offer only one electric mode, used in low-speed driving, the Tahoe system will offer one mode for low speed and light loads and another mode for highway speeds. In the first mode, the hybrid system can operate in three ways: electric power only (motor drive), engine power only (engine drive), or a combination of both motor and engine drive. In the second mode, sophisticated electronic controls produce efficient engine operation as well as full power in conditions when it is needed, such as passing or towing. Read more »

Would you buy an El Camino?

Holden Ute SSRumors are circulating that GM may bring the Holden Ute into America as a Chevy El Camino. This is similar to the way GM brought the Holden Monaro to the U.S. as the Pontiac GTO a few years ago.Holden Ute

What do you think, is this a good idea? Would you be interested in an El Camino if the model became available? What other classic Chevrolet nameplates would you like to see resurrected? Is bringing back old model names a good idea?
