The Toyota Prius has become the flagship car for those in our society so environmentally conscious that they are willing to spend a premium to show the world how much they care. Unfortunately for them, their ultimate ‘green car’ is the source of some of the worst pollution in North America; it takes more combined energy per Prius to produce than a Hummer. Read more »

2008 LS3 Corvette Surfaces on ‘Net

2008_ls3_lo002.jpgThe new LS3 V8 motor that is to debut this weekend at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green has surfaced on the Internet a few days early and is expected to make 30 more hp than the LS2 (bringing the total output in the Corvette to 430hp). Speculation that displacement has changed (maybe to 6.2L) is swirling as well as rumors that VVT (Variable Valve Timing) may be introduced also circulate. For more pictures, follow this link.

How a Turbocharger Works

turbo.jpgOne of my favorite sites on the Internet (www.howstuffworks.com) has done a great job of describing what a turbocharger is and how it works. Many of our truck buyers know turbos because they buy diesel truck engines with them for increased towing capacity and fuel efficiency. So, if you want to know exactly what a turbo is and how it works, follow this link. Enjoy!

Another $8 to go to NYC??

Escape from New YorkMayor Bloomberg wants $8 per car and $21 per truck for us to go to Manhattan? Is he out of his mind? What constitutes a truck? Will we have to pay $21 in an SUV? We already get KILLED for parking in NYC, this may be the nail in the coffin for the quick drive to the city. What do you think? How much do you pay, round trip, for a night on the town?

H3 SUT Concept VehicleTrolling the web this morning I found this article confirming production of the H4 in 2010. What is even more interesting is talk about alternative power plants for some of the HUMMER lineup too. Not just E85, but also diesel power. If this article is correct, we have some great products coming down the pipe!

Gas Price Guesses!

gaspump.jpgUSA Today printed today that gas prices are being predicted to peak in May at $2.87 a gallon for regular (click here for source). However, their article is based on the government’s guess. I believe (as do some analysts) that we are already paying more than that and summer has yet to hit. So, it begs the question, how high will gas prices go this summer? Will we see $4.00 a gallon? What are you paying right now? Maybe a Chevrolet minicar isn’t such a bad idea! Did I mention we sell cars that get 30+ MPG!
