USA Today printed today that gas prices are being predicted to peak in May at $2.87 a gallon for regular (click here for source). However, their article is based on the government’s guess. I believe (as do some analysts) that we are already paying more than that and summer has yet to hit. So, it begs the question, how high will gas prices go this summer? Will we see $4.00 a gallon? What are you paying right now? Maybe a Chevrolet minicar isn’t such a bad idea! Did I mention we sell cars that get 30+ MPG!
Regardless of what the price ceiling hits this summer, I think the real point is that the car companies need to keep pushing in the direction of the VOLT and hybrids, etc. American’s love to ignore a problem…and when gas prices came back down everyone was happy to just go about their regular ways.
This summer I think we will see $4/gal and there will be riots in the streets and crys for the government to take action, etc. How about we reduce dependency on oil and make responsible automotive purchase decisions in our OWN LIVES? If you stop buying gas guzzlers, they’ll stop making them! Simple supply and demand kids.
