$75,500 Contributed for Area Scholarships Since Program Launched Two Decades Ago

NEW CANAAN,  CT  (May 22,  2008)  –  Graduating students from Lower Fairfield County High Schools will receive a total of $3,750 in scholarship assistance from KARL Chevrolet HUMMER this spring; recipients will be selected by the schools.

Since the New Canaan Dealership began running its April high school scholarship promotion twenty-three years ago it has raised $75,500 for area scholarship programs, according to Leo Karl III, KARL Chevrolet HUMMER’s President.

“As a leading business in the area, we feel it’s important to be actively involved in the communities that support us. The Scholarship Drive has become a signature event for us, and we’re delighted that we are able to make a significant contribution to help area students again this year,” Mr. Karl commented.  “With tuition increases continuing to outpace the rate of inflation, we know that every dollar makes a difference to students who need assistance. Our customers are also gratified to know that their purchase has helped our graduates further their education,” he added. Read more »

Help Fight High Gas Prices! Report on your local gas station!

6 Year History of Gas Prices in CTConnecticutGasPrices.com is a volunteer organization where consumers work together to fight high gas prices. The website works by having consumers, like you, report local gas prices so that everyone can avoid high priced gas and save money at the pump.

ConnecticutGasPrices.com is a grass-roots community effort to lower gas prices. In a typical city, gas prices vary by about 30-50 cents per gallon in the US (10-15c/L in Canada). If everyone buys gas at the lower priced stations, it puts pressure on the higher priced stations to lower their gas prices since their sales will decrease. In effect, it makes gas stations more competitive.

All gas prices on ConnecticutGasPrices.com are reported to the website by ordinary people. By combining the efforts of 700,000 national members (and growing), it makes it easier to find the cheapest gas prices. Much of the time, you can save 15 cents per gallon (7c/L in Canada) without having to drive for 20 miles.

Also, be sure to check out the historical price graphs for our area located here. They are available for the last month thru to the last 6 years! They sure are eye opening!!
